Mt. Alexander is almost in my backyard, so just a short drive to the start. This walk is rated easy, with a peak of 746m. In the 19th century it was a huge gold rush area. There are also large, very old outcrops of granite rocks to walk around and over.
The walk forms part of the Goldfields Track which begins in Bendigo.! On a hot day, I was pleased to be walking mostly n the shade, but I was looking out very carefully for snakes.
At the top of Mt. Alexander there are various communications towers, which are a bit of a blight on the landscape, but of course, very necessary for communications.
