A Little Bit Of News

April 4, 2022 By nextphaseinfitness 20 Comments

As I’ve posted in my monthly updates, my Word Of The Year – Happiness – has been showing up often during 2022. I’ve really been feeling that this is the perfect word for me for 2022.

However, the past week has been a struggle, making me realise how quickly happiness can fly out the window. I’m hoping this is just a temporary pause.

Now, for what happened to cause what’s been a great year so far, to come crashing down.

Two days ago, as I was happily pottering at home, doing not much of any importance,, little did I know what was about to happen. Clumsily, I tripped over my own feet and crashed into the kitchen bench. The edge of the bench slammed hard into my arm.  The result was bad break to my left arm.

I spent the day at the ED where the bones were  manipulated into place with a local anaesthetic. The next step is to see the doctor again next week, to check if it needs surgery.

Until then I’ve been told to stay quiet and do as little as possible to help the bones settle into place. There have been pain issues also, that have kept me quiet.

As it’s my right arm that’s broken, typing is a long drawn out process of one finger left handed typing. I do plan to look into using voice dictation when I’m feeling a bit better.

This my third broken arm, the last one being just 18 months ago, so I feel that I’m an expert and know what to expect of the next few months.

I’ve decided that for now, it’s all a bit too hard, so have made the decision, that this will be my last post until later in the month.

I will still be here quietly reading and commenting on blogs as usual, as I’d hate to lose the connections that mean so much to me.

Oh Jen, not again! You poor thing! Follow drs orders and rest up. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. Perhaps a trip to Queensland is in order – friends and family to visit – would be just the thing xxx

I’m resting Sue, doing not much of anything really, except reading. I’m planning to be at Noosa first week in August

Oh my goodness! And just when things were falling into place for you. Take care, although as you say, you’re an old hand at these now. As an aside, I’m keeping up with your A-Z family posts. I mightn’t be commenting, but I’m finding them most interesting.

Oh Jennifer – another broken arm 🙁 You must be so annoyed and sad about it – especially with the enjoyment you’ve been having getting out and about on your e-bike etc. Time is a great healer, but pain, and discomfort, and restrictions are awful. Sending you a warm virtual hug and hope it heals well and without surgery. x

Oh Jen, I’m so sorry to hear you have had an accident and it does make us all aware that even a small trip or slip can cause pain and inconvenience. Take care and we wouldn’t lose touch but healing is what you need to do right now. Sending love and hugs to you xx

That’s not good news at all Jen, I do hope you are resting and can get some answers soon as to the extent of your injury. Happiness can fly out the window at any moment can’t it? Take care xx
