The TOGO920 challenge is to cycle 920 kilometers in 8 weeks. We are up to week 3 and I am way, way, behind, but still feeling confident that I can make the distance. I have time off over the next couple of weeks, so plan to spend longer hours on the bike.
This week, I’ve cycled 118.8k. All rides except today’s were done on the trail bike on the O’Keefe Rail Trail. As I said in an earlier post, my TOGO920 challenge has a rail trail theme, but not just the local rail trail. I am planning on venturing a little further next week and riding a rail trail that isn’t local to me.
Today’s ride was on the road bike which hasn’t been out of the shed since late last year. The aim of this ride, was just to test out the knee, which has kept me off the roadie for a few months. The ride was short, but it felt good. So next week, I’m promising myself to increase the kilometers quickly on this bike. As well as on the trail bike of course, on trail days. Stay tuned.
The TOGO website tells me that so far, for the challenge, I have cycled 228.47k. That leaves 691.53k to go.
The challenge doesn’t finish until mid July. So I’m confident that I will get it done in time.
