I am back again for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge so have made the commitment to blog every day in April except the Sundays. Some bloggers choose a Theme, and others do random posts. For me, a theme works better, so the theme I’ve chosen for 2016 is Bendigo, a large provincial city in central Victoria, Australia. I live just outside Bendigo and have been in this area for only 9 years, so feel I still have ‘visitors eyes’.
K is for Kennington Reservoir and Reserve. Just a couple of kilometres from the city, Kennington Reservoir is a large water storage area situated in the suburb of Kennington. It is home to bird life of all descriptions and is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend time. There is also an annual fishing competition which has become very popular.

Bushland and walking paths surround the reservoir, forming the reserve. This area is hugely popular with dog walkers and exercisers and is very well maintained with all the usual amenities.
Kennington Reserve provides a way to get in touch with nature and enjoy some peaceful time away from the rush of city life, while still being very close to the city. Just a short walk from Kennington Reservoir are the shopping centres of Kennington, but while relaxing there, it is impossible to know that they are so close.
