Axedale Ride

November 28, 2014 By nextphaseinfitness Leave a Comment

This week I did my first ride around the Axedale area. The ride was quite hilly. I have a love/hate relationship with hills, but they are the best way to train to increase fitness, so I try to think of the benefits rather than the pain. The day was very windy and with the hills, the ride was about the toughest I’ve done for a few weeks, even though the distance was quite short.

The ride took me past the Lake Eppalock Spillway which I was looking forward to seeing as the water rushing across the spillway always looks very dramatic. But not this time.  I was surprised to see that Lake Eppalock is quite low at the moment and there was not water at all on the spillway.

I really enjoyed this shortish ride and look forward to the 27k circuit becoming a regular route.
