Back to serious training

December 2, 2016 By wpadmin Leave a Comment

The plaster has been off for almost three weeks now and I can feel my arm and hand getting stronger everyday.

I saw a physio for two weeks, and he’s now given me permission to do whatever it is that I want to do in regard to training. But he did make me promise to start with baby weights and go very softly, softly in everything I do.  Just for a while to make sure all is ok.

So this week I’ve been up early every day  and into the gym. Except that it’s not a gym really. Since we moved I don’t have a place to put my gym equipment, so I’m exercising outdoors. The new gym will be built early in the new year. I’m quite excited about that.

Today, I took the spin bike a spin for the first time, and all was good with the wrist. Even managed to do a full hour of RPM – #happydance  So this weekend I plan to get the trail bike out for a short test ride. Fingers crossed that all is ok, as I desperately want to start riding again.

Those who know me, know that I love Michelle Bridges 12WBT program, and in the early years of the program, I was one of the official Ambassadors. This was a time of my life that I absolutely loved. A few kilos have crept on, and I am really unfit, after four months with no exercise, so I’ve signed up for 12WBT to keep my exercise focus clear and to reach some of the goals I’ve set for the next three months. I love Michelle’s no nonsense exercise programs, and as I workout in a home gym, they will be perfect for me.

One of those goals is Grapest, 5K Run in Bendigo in February. Friends have signed up with me so it’s shaping up to be a fun event. Just need to get out there now and run so I don’t have to walk the course.

It feels good to be feeling positive again and I’m looking forward to fun times ahead getting fit again. I’ve realised that when I’m not fit, I just feel miserable. Time to start feeling healthy and happy again.

It’s also time now to start working again towards the goal I’ve been working towards for ages – getting fit for my retirement.

Will post training plan and goals soon, just to keep myself honest
