Last Sunday was the Ballarat Cycle Classic . I chose to do the 85k course. Probably should have done the 100k course, but I’d heard that the hills on this course were tough. To be expected I suppose, as it is the Australian Cycling Championship course.
After a late night, we woke to a 4.45 alarm, to get ourselves to Ballarat ready for an 8.30 start. Ballarat is known for its unpredictable weather, even in summer. Two days before the event the city had hail stones! But Ballarat turned on a perfect summer day for us.
I did struggle with the distance due to not being able to eat well at the moment. This is my last event ride before surgery, so next event, I expect to feel much better and have more energy.
