34k today. A bit further than the guide book recommends, but I want to get to Santiago tomorrow, one day earlier than expected. Walking today was fairly fast, a bit up and down at the start followed by a long flat stretch with a small hill at the end. Today I really hit the jackpot […]
Today was wet. And I mean wet. Luckily I had my new you beaut glamorous neck to knee Altus poncho to keep me dry. Or I would have been dry if I’d been able to get it out of the pack and on quickly. By the time I was wearing it, I was soaked. No […]
Yet another hilly hill to start the day, followed by a very steep downhill, followed by flat for most of the day. Walking was much easier today – only 11% on loose paths, the rest mainly on quiet roads.
The mountain was climbed yesterday but today it must be descended. You probably know by now that I really don’t like descents. I have very weak knees and unsure footing. But I have noticed since I began the Camino that my knees seem to be getting stronger. After quite a long descent of about 7k, […]

Today’s stage was an easy 30k. After yesterday’s steep, rocky descents, it was a relief to have a fairly flat stage.
Last easy day until the mountain stages begin. 21.4k and perfect.
