Very enjoyable walking today. Undulating with the hills not so steep – up or down. Today we walked through some peasant farming & vege growing areas.
In some cases farming conditions looked to be very poor. I couldn’t help thinking how lucky we are and how much we take our good fortune for granted.
With Spain’s economy in a bad place at the moment, I’m sure these tiny villages love having the pilgrims roll into town each day, spending their euros.
So far all of the tiny, out of the way villages, which seem to still be a century behind us, even have wifi. I would say this is due to pilgrim needs , so another benefit for the locals.
I love the window boxes bursting with pink or red geraniums.
