#SundayStills
Terri from Second Wind Leisure hosts #SundayStills, with a different prompt for each week. The prompt for this week is Favourite Vacation Spot. I’m not a photographer in any way, but I thought I’d just give this challenge a go from time to time when the prompt particularly interests me. At the moment, I’m not able to commit to a #SundayStills post every week.
I have many favourite holiday places, so find it hard to choose a number one favourite. To me, they are all equal favourites. There were four fabulous holidays to Canada, one in each season. Memorable was the six weeks I spent visiting my daughter in London and travelling around London by bike. This trip included a weekend in Paris and another in Switzerland, plus our cycling trip around Wales. I no longer have most of those photos, as they were before the days of the iphone, and I wasn’t able to take them with me, when I had to move suddenly in 2006.
For this prompt, I’ve decided to include a few holiday photos that make me smile, from a trip to the US and Canada in May 1997. The following photos are photos of photos, so please excuse the poor quality.

Hi Jen we loved Canada and my favourite Lake was actually Lake Moraine. We would love to visit Memphis and the ‘South east of the USA however not sure now with COVID. Thanks for sharing your vacation photos at least I can say I’ve seen Memphis and New Mexico. Have a great week! #lifethisweek
Thanks for visiting again Sue. We are fortunate to have travel memories in these times of border closures
Hi Jen – great holiday snaps and I bet they brought back some fantastic memories. We haven’t been to the US or Canada yet – it’s on the “one day” plan though and it’s nice to see that others enjoyed their time there – makes it seem more do-able in the future.
It was nice to look at old holiday photos during these times of no travel. I suspect it will be a long while before I’m ready to travel again.
What wonderful memories! I travelled a little overseas when I lived (in Africa then Asia and Pacific) in the mid 1990s until early 2000s but then had a really long break for about 16yrs when I didn’t travel at all. Just paid my mortgage etc. My holiday in Italy in 2018 is certainly my favourite and it reminded me how much I’d previously enjoyed travel.
A holiday in Italy sounds amazing Deb. I wonder how long it will be before we can take off again.
Fabulous memories you’ve shared Jen! Holidays are such fun and I had trouble choosing a favourite place, so in my post this week I shared our recent cycling trip to Myrtleford. It seemed weird in some ways being on a ‘holiday’ and feeling so carefree, but I certainly enjoyed it! Welcome to Sunday Stills (whenever you can make it) 🙂
I had fun looking back through the few photos I do have pre iPhone. Made me realise how lucky we are these days to have such amazing technology
Banff looks really neat! We just went to Colorado for the first time in 2019 and while we didn’t get up close and personal with the Rocky Mountains we were still in awe of them.
The Rockies are definitely awe inspiring Joanne
Wow, you have lived some amazing experiences via travel Jennifer. I am so sad you don’t have your photos from way back…memories inside you though.
I too am very grateful for my newer technology. I have photos backed up two ways..I pay a small amount to Google and similarly to Apple.
Thank you for joining in Life This Week Link Up.
I’ve just added another 10 optional prompts taking us to October!
It’s always good to see a blog post from you and I value your presence here. Denyse.
I certainly hold my memories close to my heart Denyse. Will check out your new prompts.
