February Plans #fitfabfeb2019

February 5, 2019 By nextphaseinfitness 12 Comments

fitfabfebMy blogger friend Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond has put out the #fitfabfeb challenge. Actually #fitfabfeb is not really a challenge – unless you want it to be. It’s more about becoming aware of our lifestyle and making small changes during the month to improve our health and wellbeing. If you’d like to find out more about how to get the most out of #fitfabfeb, check out Sue’s instructional and informative Planning Post. There are some great ideas there to help you achieve your February goals.

#FitFabFeb2019 is not just about physical health it is also about our mental health, our spiritual health and considering where we are now and where we want to be. -Sizzlingtowardssixty.com.au

For me, #fitfabfeb has come along at the right time. I’m going to use the month of February, and my participation in #fitfabfeb to set down sustainable habits that will fit in with Maxine’s Challenge. I posted recently about my my intended participation in Maxine’s Challenge for the entire year of 2019.  To be successful in this Challenge, the most important thing, I need to do is be true to the exercise program and my integrity.

At the moment, I have a heavy work schedule, so I need to be organised and intentional with my exercise, and at the same it is very important that I don’t skip exercise sessions. Every Sunday night I am scheduling my sessions in my calendar ready for the week to come. My work sometimes causes changes to be made to the times that I have scheduled, but I plan to work around that, as I usually do. As long as every session gets done, it really doesn’t matter when.

My #fitfabfeb plan

  • Don’t skip exercise sessions
  • Follow Maxine’s exercise plan
  • Follow Maxine’s nutrition program
  • Record and review my nutritional and fitness progress
  • Continually re-assess goals and mini goals along the way

I will be posting daily photos to Instagram with the hashtag #fitfabfeb2019 which relates to Sue’s prompts on Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond.  If you’d like to join in follow me here and post using #fitfabfeb2019. You could also join Sue’s Sizzling towards 60 & Beyond Facebook Group for extra inspiration from this fabulous group of women.

My non-negotiables

This week in Week 1, Sue asked the question: What are your non negotiables? This had me thinking. I’m fairly sure that I constantly have the following non-negotiables in place to ensure that I stick to my exercise plan, and reach my goals. No chocolate is a ‘special one’ that I threw in for #fitfabfeb2019

  •  Three weights sessions
  •  Four cardio sessions
  •  No chocolate
  •  Long stretch session on rest day

I want us to be feeling so good that we want to keep incorporating the changes and making them our lifestyle – sizzlingtowards60.com.au

What are your thoughts about #fitfabfeb2019. Are you planning to participate? I’d love to hear and promise to reply to all comments.

I’m not participating as I already have a very full list of things I want to achieve this month (I guess they are my non-negotiables). But I know how inspirational Sue is so I am sure it will be a really positive experience for everyone who participates.

I will try not to feel guilty as I eat a piece of chocolate while I’m reading this Jennifer! Sue’s challenge is a good one and I love how she’s focusing on more than just physical fitness, because there are so many levels to a person and all of them need to be kept healthy. I’ll be cheering you on as you do Maxine’s challenge (and trying to keep my chocolate consumption to a minimum!)
Thanks for linking up with us at MLSTL and I’ve shared on my SM 🙂

No need to feel guilty about the chocolate Leanne. I do love chocolate myself but think it’s time to stay away from it. Just for a short time of course

I like the “no skip” idea as a intention combined with numerical goals. I’ve committed to doing 3 days of yoga in January and February (versus my usual 1). And that numerical goal helped last week a lot…my regular class was cancelled (beach yoga in cloudy 50F weather is not appealing to anyone) and I pulled out the computer to find a YouTube session. I guess I need to commit to other numerical goals versus just a “walk more” goal. Visiting from #MLSTL

Hi Jen, thank you so much for the wonderful shout out about my blog and #FitFabFeb2019. We gain inspiration and support from each other, don’t we? I know I always feel inspired to be active after I’ve read one of your posts. I think your non negotiables are sustainable and love that you use Sunday night to prepare. Planning really is the key to achieving our goals and we can also track our progress. Thank you for sharing at #MLSTL and I look forward to reading your progress each week. Enjoy!
