Yesterday we had our final Melbourne Coastrek team walk, as the event is now only 18 days away. We were feeling quite excited to finally do this longest of our training walks.
We met at 7.30 am at Axedale with the plan to walk on the O’Keefe Rail Trail to Heathcote, a distance of 29.2 kilometers.
Of course, as usual, there were lots of laughs along the way, and much discussion about the upcoming event, and our celebrations after we cross the finish line.
Team No Bounce Here walked into Heathcote in the early afternoon, weary but happy, and made our way to a cafe for a well earned lunch . We had huge appetites after burning up almost 2000 calories and were feeling quite satisfied with ourselves.
We have trained hard over the past few months and now feel that we are well prepared. Melbourne Coastrek, Team No Bounce Here are ready for you!
Just a reminder that Coastrek Melbourne, is a fundraiser for the Fred Hollows foundation.
From the website: “We see a world in which no person is needlessly blind and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to good health”
If anyone would like to donate to our team just go to my page here with all donations being tax deductible in Australia. Thank you very very much in advance. Any donations are much appreciated by me and by the Fred Hollows Foundation
