Goals for 2015

Probably, I should say upfront that I don’t believe in New Year Resolutions. Mostly they are “pie in the sky”, usually made in hope, with no planning involved at all. I’m sure that by the end of the first week in January, most New Year Resolutions have been long forgotten.

That’s not to say that I don’t believe in planning. I prefer to make New Year Goals that are attached to a plan. My goals are always S.M.A.R.T. goals. Putting a time frame on them, ensures that they will be achieved by a particular date

S:  Specific

M:  Measurable

A:  Attainable

R:  Relevant

T:  Timely

Using the S.M.A.R.T criteria ensures that goals are specific and not just a vague wishlist.

So here are my goals for 2015

15 Feb:  Ballarat Cycle Classic. My entry is in for this event. I have entered for the 85k road ride

01 Mar:  Marysville Lake Mountain Challenge  I have entered for the 75k distance, which includes 40k Lake Mountan climb (eek!)

?? March: Woodend (date not yet announced)

24 May:   Whittlesea Cycle Challenge. Entered for 60k course

18 Oct:   100k Bupa Around the Bay in a Day

28 Nov: RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride

Have stomach surgery and start eating normally again – Don’t have date yet. But should be very early 2015

Boxing twice weekly

Strength training 4 times weekly

Cycle 6 times weekly – incl 2 trail rides

I have a few goals also, to hopefully make much needed improvements to my blog:

Complete Bloggers  Course

SBB 30 day Instagram Challenge

Write 20 mins daily

Attend sessions at Emerging Writers’ Festival | 2015 May 26 – June 5.

Have you made your goals for 2015? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.

As usual you set amazing goals that you’ll undoubtedly achieve.; you are an inspiration. Us mere mortals get tired even reading them
