THE GREAT CYCLE CHALLENGE, has been on my mind quite a bit lately, as I need to set my goal in kilometers cycled for the month of October.
This needs to be a big goal as it will be my first goal focussed venture since arriving home from the Camino.
This has caused me a bit of a struggle as the Camino was huge for me and until now, I haven’t been able to think of any other goal measuring up.
But now, after much serious thought, the decision has been made,
During the month of October, I will cycle 1000 ks. This sort of seems appropriate as for 6 weeks from June 1, I walked 1000ks.
I like to split my goals into small goals. So it means that in October, I will need to cycle 250ks every week, which is 50ks for each of 5 training sessions. I have decided to cycle commute to work, so Adding in the nber of ks spent travljng to work and home about 20k round trip, it shouldn’t be too difficult to get to 1000.
Organisation will be the key to success but I’m almost sure I can do it. Will give it a red hot go anyway!
I WILL cycle 1000 ks in October!
I’m very much looking forward to pedalling again. While training for the Camino, there was no time to ride, so the bike has been neglected for about a year. There is going to be serious pain in the legs and bottom , but I really can’t wait to get started.
Bring it on!
