The prompt for The Sunday Stills Photo Challenge this week is Happy Place. Terri from Second Wind Leisure hosts #SundayStills, with a different prompt for each week. I’m not a photographer but I thought I’d just give it a go. I’ve been enjoying participating in this photo challenge because it opens my eyes to my surroundings, as I think about the upcoming prompt for the week ahead.
I’ve got a few happy places, but none more than Steens Road, which is the dirt road that gives access to our house from the main road. To most people, driving along this road by car, nothing would probably jump out as special. I walk or drive this road almost every day and I just love it. I particularly love walking it. It makes me smile every time. There is so much to enjoy, from the environment to the animals.

My two friends, the donkey and the alpaca. They always come over to the fence when they see me coming. The alpaca is very suspicious of us, but the donkey is always happy for a chat

These beautiful young alpacas usually run in a pack to the fence when we walk by. Oscar is a bit stirred up by them but they make me smile

Heading back towards the hill. The grass is very lush and green at the moment. In summer there won’t be any green to be seen at all.

The mailboxes for the houses that are near us. It’s a 5k round trip to the mail box. Most days, I walk there with Oscar, but not to collect the mail. It’s just a really great 5k walk, which I can increase at the other end if I feel like it.

Hi Jen – loved the little snapshots of your life and where you live. I always find it so interesting having little glimpses into the lives of other bloggers. Thanks for sharing your happy place x
Thanks so much for popping in Leanne. Pleased you enjoyed a little look at my everyday.
These are great shots of your happy place Jen, I love the rural scenes , not dissimilar to my area!
Thanks Deb. The green will soon be brown, giving another perspective
What a great place to walk and explore. I love all the letterboxes 🙂 5k is as far as we could go last week. So if that was you there would be no shopping etc. Oscar is so cute xx
Thanks Bree. I’m sure you’re enjoying being able to go 25k
What a lovely environment and to be able to see the animals daily is a big bonus.
