Cycle Classes at home
There have been questions about which cycle class video I use in my home gym. It really depends on the day, and whether I want to do a faster workout or focus more on hills. The video below is Les Mills RPM Release 73. It’s a bit of an all rounder really, and a good workout if it’s done correctly. At the moment, it’s my favourite. But I do like trying the different releases.
Being an oldie, I occasionally find the music a bit obtrusive in some of the Les Mills videos, but I don’t mind the music in 73. This instructor is one of my favourites, as I like her low key presentation style and instructive comments.
The main thing is to listen to the instructor explain technique, and be sure to turn up the resistance when told to do so. Try to follow her instructions for a beneficial workout. It’s best to concentrate on riding as fast as you possibly can in the fast sections. In the hilly sections, you will get the most benefit if you turn up the resistance as high as you can possibly bear it. It may take a few times doing a class, to get to that standard. But it’s something to aim for.
Hope you enjoy the workout.
Do you enjoy cycle classes? Do you prefer Spin or RPM? I’d love you to join in the conversation in the comments below. I enjoy your comments and will reply to all.
I don’t have a cycle Jen but I do enjoy your tips on keeping health and active. I use Yoga Studio app and just found a great body make over challenge at Daily Om. Once my long run goals are finished I will be looking for something a little different in my workouts. Have a great week!
Thanks for your comments Sue. I’ll check out Daily Om. I used to use Yoga Studio App. Its great.
Hi Jen, just popping back to say thank you for linking up at #MLSTL and I’ll be sharing your post on social media. Have a great day!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply so. Having a few problems with comments admin. Hopefully will be sorted soon.
I’m mostly walking these days but I am looking to change things up a bit. I was leaning towards getting an elliptical but I might just try an exercise bike and see if I like it. Looks like hard work but still a lot of fun! Thanks!!
I also love the elliptical Kim. Be interested to hear what you decide.
Wow! That’s pretty intense Jennifer! I’m more of a cruiser and muser when it comes to bike riding. You are certainly as inspirational as Sue is with her running – I feel quite old and lazy in comparison!
Thanks for linking up with us at #MLSTL and I’ve shared this on my SM 🙂
Leanne there’s nothing wrong with cruising and musing either. I tend to do that also occasionally. Can’t be fall on all the time. We all have
different priorities so please don’t be feeling old and lazy.
I did cycle classes for almost two years but for some reason last summer I got bored and stopped going. I did feel like I got a good workout from cycling.
My first thought is that maybe you needed to change things up. I tend to get a bit bored so need to work on keeping a bit of variety in the gym
An at home cycle sounds like a great idea and I think classic rock would be the perfect music to motivate me!
Yes it most definitely has to be classic rock.
