The week just gone was all about the rain. We had the heaviest rain here, that we’ve had in a long while. This makes me feel a bit more positive about the garden. Usually at the end of summer, I’m feeling a bit sad and wondering if the battle is worth it. Not so this year! Here we are at the first week in autumn and I’m feeling it could be possible to create a lovely garden oasis in this harsh bush setting.
A few photos from around the garden:

Finally, my knee has improved enough to start doing RPM classes again. It’s such a relief to be able to get back to a actual fitness program, and not just rehab.
The big highlight for the week came on Friday, when I opened an email which told me that I have been chosen to be an Ambassador for Family History Down Under which will be held in March 2021 at the Sunshine Coast. This is a four day genealogy/family history conference, with guest speakers from Australia and overseas. I have been very much looking forward to this conference but now that I’m an ambassador, my excitement his lifted to the next level. A side bonus is that my son and grandchildren are on the sunshine coast, so I’ll get to spend some rare time with them also.
Fabulous news all round Jennifer! Rain sounds good and being chosen for that role is wonderful. Well done!
Thanks Deb
The rain caused much excitement Deb
What a good news post- so many reasons to be happy! I must say, I never thought I’d ever get this excited about rain but it’s been most welcome!
Rain causes lots of excitement in oor house these days Sam.
Congratulations for being chosen as an Ambassador for the family history conference!
Thanks Ingrid. And thanks also for dropping by
Congratulations on your ambassadorship. If I’m around in March I might register to come and have a look and a listen. You’ll get to see your family too so it’s a double win. (As an aside, love the Polish chook…)
Jo you must let me know if you decide to go to the conference. It would be lovely to catch up
Nice to see your photos Jennifer – the garden certainly seems to be coming along well (and your chook is very cute). Congrats on the Ambassador-ship too – well deserved!
Thanks Leanne for your lovely comments
What a wonderful post. Congratulations on your role as an Ambassador. And to add in the venue being where family is…win/win.
Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week’s optional prompt is: 11/51 My Neighbourhood 16.3.2020. Hope to see you there too. Denyse.
Thanks Denyse. Looking forward to next week
