In just 18 days, I will be heading off on my much looked forward to holiday to USA. The main reason for the trip is to attend the worldwide genealogy conference Rootstech 2016 at Salt Lake City Utah. The conference runs for 5 days, after which will be touring the West Coast, visiting places such as L.A., San Francisco, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Monument Valley and much more.
I’m very much looking forward to both Rootstech and the touring. With many seminars on each day there is going to be a huge amount of new information to absorb. I will be blogging prolificly about what I’m learning. I’m really looking forward to catching up with old friends in genealogy and making new friends. I have been to most of the places we will be visiting, other than Salt Lake City, but I’m really looking forward to re-visiting these wonderful places.

Salt Lake City, Utah
Of course, we are going from a sizzling hot Australian Summer to a freezing cold northern hemisphere winter, so I’m expecting to really feel the cold. I’ve been watching the Salt Lake City weather during Dec/Jan, and it has been daily highs of about zero and lows of about -7 to -10. That sounds a bit horrifying, for me who doesn’t enjoy winter at all. But I notice the days are gradually getting a little less cold. January is the coldest month according to the website.

Sounds fantastic! We go in just over 6 weeks. Haven’t been to SLC, but we’ve been to Moab in Utah, just stunning and our son went to Monument Valley recently. Nothing like it. Great to see you throwing yourself into your diverse interests 🙂
Thanks Pam. You will be heading off just after we get back. I’m sure you will love it especially Monument Valley.
