Out and about

March 1, 2018 By wpadmin 6 Comments

We have just had a much needed four day weekend. On Friday we decided to go to the Melbourne Zoo for a relaxing day. It’s one of our favourite places, but we don’t get there as often as we would like.

One of our best times at the Melbourne Zoo was three years ago, when we did an overnight stay for their Roar ‘n’ Snore Overnight Camp.  We stayed overnight in tents, in the elephant enclosure and got to see what goes on at night in the zoo. It was a huge highlight.

This latest visit was just for the day, and once again we loved it. As usual the meerkats and elephants were my favourites.

On Saturday our local community held Axedale Quickshear and Family Fun Day. That took up the whole day, but was lots of fun.

On Monday we headed back to Melbourne, this time by train, to the Melbourne Aquarium . This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it

I had intended to do a few bushwalks, but that didn’t happen, so I have a bit of catching up to do for my 150 Walks in Victoria in 2018 Challenge.

I adore meerkats and elephants Jennifer so I was delighted to read your post. I haven’t been to a zoo in years but recently my almost 4 year old grandson went to Australia Zoo with his Mum and Dad and still talks about it. It is good to get out and about isn’t it? Have a great weekend !

Thanks Sue. Australia Zoo is on our to-do list, it was great going to the zoo for no other reason than we could

I haven’t been to the zoo for years – I’m thinking it might be something to add to me To-Do list. It’s always a lovely place to stroll around and enjoy the sights and sounds.

Wow! Jennifer that overnight camp sounds so so cool (Can I still say that at my age LOL) what an experience. And those meerkats are so cute!

Thanks for dropping in Lise. Don’t forget we were saying cool before the younger generation were born 😀
