Terri from Second Wind Leisure hosts #SundayStills, with a different prompt for each week. The prompt for the photo challenge this week is Rosy Red. I’m not a photographer in any way, but I thought I’d just give this challenge a go.
Rosy Red
The Lotus Flower is a sculpture which sits in the forecourt of the Golden Dragon Museum in Bendigo. The large fibreglass petals contain concrete, which gives them the strength they need. In the centre the flower bud is made from steel and contains lights which are lit up at night. I’d love to show you a photo at night, but it’s not being turned on at the moment due to Covid restrictions. I never tire of looking at this sculpture. Whenever I think of the colour red, the lotus flower is the first thing that comes to my mind.
These three little cuties are my grandchildren, the children of my son, Steven. From left: Lucas, Hudson and Jake.
This photo was taken just before they moved to the Sunshine Coast, eighteen months ago. A few months after they moved, I went up to check out their new home, and spend a few days with them. Covid struck shortly after, and I haven’t seen them since. The way the virus is going in Victoria, with it’s recurring outbreaks, I’m really not sure when I’ll get to see them again. Hopefully it will be soon.
This is one of my favourite red roses. I can’t remember the name so will have to try to find out. I’m asked about it so often.
My #tbr pile of new red books. These titles look really interesting. I can’t wait to read them.

What handsome grandsons you have. How hard it is to be unable to visit in person. Loved your rosy red interpretation!
Denyse.
Hi Jen – another interesting interpretation of the challenge – love all your deep reds and the vibrancy of the photos (and also loved seeing your grandsons in their red uniforms).
Thanks for dropping by Leanne
Hi Jen, I’m just catching up on #SundayStills and love your Rosy Red photos. Your grandchildren are precious aren’t they? Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can see them again. So many red book covers, yet I don’t have one! #sundaystills
Thanks for visiting again Sue. I was a bit snowed under last weekend so gave #sundaystills a miss. Will be back to it soon
