Round The Bay In A Day

May 18, 2015 By nextphaseinfitness 1 Comment

My entry is in for Bicycle Network’s Round The Bay In A Day cycling event. The event has varying distances, from 20k to the iconic tough 250k. I have registered for the 100k ride, which will start in Sorrento and finish in Melbourne.

The ride is on at the end of October, which gives me 5 months to train.

At last I have a goal that is inspiring me to get serious again. Since my surgery, I’ve been a bit half  hearted about my exercise program – exercising but mostly on auto pilot and with very little enthusiasm.

Below is the Round The Bay In A Day training program, recommended by the Bicycle Network. This event will keep me training seriously through the winter, which is always tough on the bike, making it easy to decide to miss sessions.

Last week I completed all sessions on the bike and a bit more. Tuesday 25k, Thursday 25k Saturday 42k and Sunday  26k . Total kilometres ridden – 118 ks.

So that’s week 1 done and dusted. Looking forward to a big improvement showing up soon
