Surgery Update

March 9, 2015 By nextphaseinfitness 3 Comments

I posted here  recently that I was about to have surgery, which would probably keep me out of action for a few weeks, and thought it was about time that I posted the results. The surgery was done and was successful. I was only in hospital for three days instead of the expected 5, and have been recovering well and quickly since.

The good news is that I’m now able to eat and keep food down. It’s been fun eating foods that I haven’t been able to eat in years.  I’m really loving the stone fruits that are in season, and bananas and bread….I could go on and on.

Seems the food that I’m craving is healthy and nutritious food, so it’s lots of fruit and veges mainly. I need to get as much nutrition as possible back into this body, as quickly as possible.

As for exercise. That has had to go on hold for a while, but probably not too much longer. I’m feeling much fitter and stronger and less sore every day. I’ve taken a few weeks off work to recover but should be back, probably part time, next week. If that goes well, perhaps the week after, I might be able to get back into exercising regularly.

At the moment, I am walking my dogs daily, but that’s it. And it is a slow amble compared to usual. Here’s hoping that my fitness picks up quickly as I had been working really hard on it this year.

Glad to hear your surgery went well.
Probably that you are so fit that you’ve recovered as quickly and well as you have.
Keep up the good work with getting back into the swing of exercise.
I can highly recommend yoga; it’s been helping me deal with some health issues I had last year with great results, strengthening, balancing and endurance.

    All the best,

Thanks Jen. Recovering well. I do yoga occasionally. Hopeless at it but love it

Hello. I stopped by to say hello and read your theme reveal. I’m so sorry to hear about your health, but am happy that your surgery was a success. I don’t know if you are feeling up to participating in the challege, but if you do, I will be back in April to read your blog posts
