Taking Stock 2022

July 8, 2022 By nextphaseinfitness 21 Comments

It’s much too long since I’ve done a Taking Stock post. I was reminded of how much I enjoy them, recently, when I read Debs Taking Stock post. I have promised myself to do these posts more regularly in future.  The prompts used here are Denyse’s A-Z Taking Stock Prompts

Admiring: Baz Luhrmann, director of Elvis, the movie. Absolutely loved it! Can’t stop thinking about it

Becoming: Very Excited about our upcoming move

Curious:  To see how much my grandchildren have grown since I last saw them pre-pandemic

Delighted: To have had a long weekend with friends and our dogs in Port Fairy

Excited: Very soon I should be able to get back on the bike, as my arm is almost completely healed.

Feeling: Still sad about the death of our Molly. The best little dog who we had for 21 years

Going: To Queensland at the end of this month

Helping: Moderating on our #ANZAncestryTime Twitter discussions about genealogy/family history

Imploring: The rule makers to please make masks mandatory again. I’m still wearing mine and would love to see others wearing theirs.

Joking: I’m never going to eat chocolate again! I say this quite regularly

Knowing: I will miss our neighbour Wilbur The Donkey, and his mate the alpaca, when we move. We always stop to say hello on our walks.

Loving: The latest series of Who Do You Think You Are on SBS, on Tuesday nights

Making: An  effort to get my exercise more seriously back on track after having to slow down with broken arm

Next: Not sure what life will look like after moving

Observing: The sadness I feel each year on my son’s birthday 14.7.1977 – 2.11.1995. Craig was my Bastille Day baby.

Posting: Posts have been much infrequently lately

Questioning: Whether I can participate in the Blogging April A-Z Challenge on two blogs in 2023

Reading: Books that have been sitting on my bookshelf for much too long

Staying: From the end of July, I will be staying for one week at Norfolk Island for a genealogy conference, followed by one week with family at the Sunshine Coast, on my Qld trip

Trying: To enjoy the winter. It’s not working. I hate winter!

Understanding: The problems of ageing, and doing what I need to do to deal with them

.Viewing: Many posts of other bloggers, even though I’ve been having a hiatus myself

Welcoming: Photos from the time I walked the Camino de Santiago, that are coming up on my FB news feed during June, the anniversary month.

I look at this photo and see the kilos lost on the Camino.

X (our choice):   I will definitely miss my home gym when we move, but will be able to set up a smaller area

Yes: Yes I completed my eighth Blogging April A-Z Challenge in 2022. It was a struggle after I broke my arm and had only my left hand to write my posts.

Zoom: Still loving being able to attend genealogy zoom meetings from around the world

You’ve got some fabulous things to look forward to – and how appropriate is Norfolk Island for a genealogy conference? Looking forward to hearing about it all.

Great A – Z Catch-up Post. I also enjoyed the new Elvis movie — but found it very, very sad!

Hi Donna. The Elvis movie was very sad. I wasn’t expecting to feel sadness

Enjoy your conference, that sounds interesting!
I don’t know when you are going to move, but I hope everything goes well, and that you settle into your new house and your new routines quickly. When does your winter end? We are in the middle of summer here.

Hi Maria, we are moving about the end of September. We are in the second month of winter. September 1 is the first day of spring.

Hi Jen – I’m so happy for you that the move is coming closer and you’ll be with your family again. Enjoy the conference and having a working arm again – it must be nice to be able to use both hands to type after pecking away for so long with your left hand only (amazing you did all that AtoZ stuff one handed!)

Thanks Leanne, fingers are crossed that I remain two handed for long into the future.

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Baz Luhrman’s “Elvis.” It’s been ages since I’ve been in a movie theater — not just because of COVID but learning to deal with a 1.5 year old :-P.

Julie, this was our first outing to the cinema too, since before covid. We went on Sunday afternoon thinking it would be quieter and yest it was.
