I’m a little bit behind where I intended to be by now,for my 150 Walks in Victoria Challenge. This is mainly due to the extreme hot weather we’ve been having here, in Central Victoria. I think it’s irresponsible to head out into the bush in temperatures over 41 degrees.
But the extreme heatwave has now passed, and we’re back to the high 30s, so I hit the road again for a walk at Malmsbury. This lovely historic town is only about an hour from where I live, so I consider this walk to be local.
MALMSBURY
The Malmsbury walk was is mainly a town walk. Malmsbury being a 19th century gold mining area, there was quite a bit to see from gold diggings to the the old historic buildings in the town.

St. John’s Church
The beautiful Malmsbury Botanic Gardens, dating from 1863, were the starting point, before heading out to Ellis Falls and looping back around the town.
This walk was very very easy, taking just two hours.
