Today I had a welcome day off, so I headed out early to tick off another walk, for the 150 Walks in Victoria Challenge.
This time, I headed over to Heathcote, about 45 minutes from home, by car, to walk in the Dargile State Forest.
The forest features mainly stringybark, box and iron bark trees and at the moment is very very dry but it’s also very beautiful.
The trail through the forest was on rough walking tracks and four wheel drive tracks, for a distance of 8k, a shorter distance than usual.
There are many marked trails through the area, which I’m looking forward to walking at another time.
I walked with a friend today, so the perfect end to a lovely relaxing walk was coffee in the courtyard of a local cafe.
