I’ve been missing for just over a week, as I got a bit overwhelmed with all the packing that was still to be done, ready for the big move.
Moving day was last Friday, and all went well. Thanks to the help of friends and family, everything was moved on the one weekend. I had expected it take two weekends, so that was a great result.
Our new house at Axe Creek, is only about 20k from where we live now. The property is a wildlife and animal refuge, on 20 acres,
The house is mud brick, solar powered and off the grid. We both love the idea of living a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle.
Operating the solar power is sure to be a learning curve for us but so far all is ok.
There are over 50 bird boxes on the property, and I find myself looking out for birds constantly. The little bird in the photo below, appears every morning on the kitchen window.
Yesterday I walked our fence line and was surprised that it was about 5ks. Over the next few days, I look forward to doing some bushwalking on our own property. Being able to do so, very much excites me.
Photos from the first few days
Once again you amaze me – you always push the boundaries and take on new and exciting challenges.
Thanks Sue. This one could be interesting! Phone call catch up soon please. I think of you often
