Time for another Word Of The Year update. My word for the year is Happiness. One month ago, when I posted my last #WOTY update, my happiness was being challenged, but there were still many moments of happiness in my life. This month, really, has been a month of happiness.
I really should say it has been a month of happiness and hard work. The first half of the month was the hard work part as we were getting the house ready for sale. I posted aboutChanges that are Coming which caused this hard work. In a nutshell, the house is being sold as step 1 in moving to Queensland to be close to my son and my grandsons. The main large job was to get the garden ship shape for the first open house. Twenty four bales of straw later, all laid on the garden by me with one left hand, due to broken arm, it was looking quite lovely again.
The decision to move to Queensland is the biggest highlight. This decision has given me back my spring in my step. Just the thought that I will be close to my family and able to participate in their lives again, sends the happiness meter soaring.
The house is sold and the move is on for the end of August. I’ve been frantically packing over the past week as I will be away for the first two weeks of August. Everything is now in readiness for when I arrive back home.
The #1 Highlight
As this post is published, I will be waiting at the airport for my flight to Brisbane, where I will be staying overnight in readiness for an early flight on Saturday, to Norfolk Island.
I will be there for seven days, mainly to attend a family history/genealogy conference, but I plan to spend my spare time bushwalking, beach walking and exploring.
From Norfolk Island, I then fly back to Brisbane, where my son will pick me up, and take me to his home at Noosa, to reconnect with my three grandsons. Regular readers will probably be bored to hear me once again say that it is three years since I’ve seen my grandsons due to covid. The happiness register is off the scale at the thought of this reunion.
How has July treated you. I hope has been kind to you as it has to me. What was your highlight? I’d love to hear about it in the comments and will always reply.
